Questions planners ask

Does Demand Desk check the safety-stock arithmetic, or do I have to?

It checks it. The plan is required to state each safety stock as z x sd x sqrt(lead time) and each reorder point as mean x lead time + safety stock, in backticks. Your browser re-runs every one of those expressions and marks the row as checking out, or flags it when no figure in the cell matches what the formula evaluates to. It is a check of the plan's own stated arithmetic against its own stated numbers — it cannot confirm the inputs were read correctly out of your paste.

What happens if my lead time changes after I get the plan?

Use the recompute control under the parameter tables. Because each row states its z, its standard deviation and its lead time, the browser re-derives every safety stock and reorder point at a new lead time or service level locally. It is free, it is instant, and it does not need a second run.

Does anything leave my browser before I sign in?

No. The series scanner and the safety-stock calculator are ordinary arithmetic running on this page — they need no sign-in and send nothing anywhere. Only building the plan itself calls the model, and that is the only step that costs credits.

What does the plan do when my paste is missing something?

It says so rather than assuming. A field it cannot compute reads not computable and the missing input is listed under Open questions, and the coverage tag at the top drops to Partial - gaps noted or Not enough to plan. It is instructed never to fill a missing lead time or service target with an industry default.

How do I get the numbers into my spreadsheet?

Copy the parameter tables as CSV, or download them as a .csv file. Both carry the item, safety stock, reorder point, order quantity and the browser's arithmetic verdict for each row. The whole plan can also be copied or downloaded as markdown.
